Boo-hoo! Washington Post architecture critic Roger K. Lewis bemoans the lack of market interest in modernist houses. His article is here. He offers readers (most of whom are probably spouting on his behalf enough crocodile tears to flood their basements) his lame excuses for why the public is so out of touch with their inner edgy. Even when he correctly identifies a few of the reasons, his analysis looks down his nose at most of his readers, even in the Washington Post's comparatively hip circulation district.
The most interesting thing about Roger Lewis's architecture criticism is that it seems to ignore the wisdom that generally emerges in his excellent, hilarious cartoons about architecture. Above is but one of many cases in point. Go figure.
