Architecture Here and There |
Here's some good thinking about how to make Rhode Island buses more efficient. We don't need a new streetcar line, we need buses that run predictably and on time. And we all don't have a schedule in our pockets. And if we do, the schedule might be wrong. And if it's not wrong, the bus driver might get to the stop long after the posted time (as happened to the writer linked to here), or before the posted time (as happened to me recently). Here's what might work even better than schedules. Granted, we - me included - don't all have cell phones, but we do all have phones at home. The post at the Rhode Island Future blog is here. (I thought I had in my iPhoto library a shot of a crowd of streetcars surging up Westminster Street, circa 1920. Couldn't find it.) CommentsPlease be civil.
