bulfinch.jpegThe New England chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA, formerly ICA & CA) has just announced its call for entries in the 2011 Charles Bulfinch Awards, the second annual competition for the chapter, which was founded in 2005. The deadline for submissions, which carry a $100 fee, is July 4.

Last year's inaugural awards were a rousing success, bestowing honors upon a host of firms from New England. This year's award ceremony will be held on Nov. 30, also at the Massachusetts State House, designed in 1795 by Charles Bulfinch.

The award program aims to encourage and reward works of architecture and craftsmanship in the classical tradition. The work must have been completed within the past five years by firms located within the six New England states. The projects themselves must also be located in New England. Work and firms in Fairfield County, Connecticut, considered part of the New York (national) chapter, are excluded.

More information about submission requirements is here. Last year's winners are here.
