There are six women in their eighties in our writing group, as was mentioned in the article, and I am amazed at their candor, their sense of humor, their optimism and their engagement in life. This is what led me to the project. Besides Monica there is Alice, Jane, Guida, Gale and Doris.
Each of them wrote their memoir and we put together an Anthology, complete with photographs, called "Ladies in their eighties remember 1923-2010." Reading someone's life story gives us a glimpse into who he or she is on a deep level.
It was rewarding for me to work with them. I am delighted that Monica's story hit the front page. I invite Wayne to interview the other five women.
